Playing the trumpet from the age of 14, Ndabo Zulu played for the NGO Field Band Foundation. He later moved to KZN where he studied how to read and write music and auditioned at the University of Stavanger where he got accepted. From there he went on to start the group “ZULU” in 2014. The artist has been among the SAMA recipients in 2020 for Newcomer of the Year, Best Duo/Group of the Year and won Album of the Year for his most recent work “Queen Nandi: The African Symphony”.
